Ways to Donate

Shanti depends on public donations to continue our work. Donations from people like you make up nearly 25% of our budget, with grants, reimbursement contracts, service fees, and special events making up the remainder. Shanti is dedicated to minimizing its administrative expenses, and at least 85 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to services.

Gifts of Cash
The simplest and most frequently used method of providing support to Shanti is through a tax-deductible cash gift or pledge—whether currency, personal check, credit card authorization, money order or bank draft. All donors to Shanti receive our newsletter, Shanti Voices, which features human-interest stories and information about how we are putting your gift to use.

Donate On-line Today!
Making a donation through our secure server is fast and easy, and when we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgement in the mail for tax purposes. Click HERE to make a donation. We use a nonprofit service to process our credit card transactions. GIVEDIRECT is the name that will appear on your credit card statement - not Shanti. Using a 3rd party helps us keep our costs low and allows us to spend more time and money on our programs! Thank you for your support!

Make a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual pledge.
Through your lasting support we can make great strides in delivering services to men and women in need. To learn how to pledge your support please contact Development & Database Associate Ian Aquino.

Buying or Selling Property
The next time you buy or sell property, you could generate a large donation for Shanti—at zero cost to you. Visit MyBrokerDonates.com to learn how it works. My Broker Donates matches Shanti supporters with highly qualified Realtors who agree to donate 15% of their fee to support our causes. It’s a powerful fundraising mechanism: The sale of a $500,000 house would raise $2,000-plus--and it doesn’t cost Shanti supporters a dime.

Vehicle Donation
Donate your old car, truck, RV, boat, motorcycle, or other vehicle to Shanti. Call 888-SHANTI- 4 (888-742-6844) to speak to a representative. We’ll help answer your questions and schedule a pickup that’s convenient for you. When you donate your car, you avoid the costs associated with selling or maintaining your car while helping your favorite cause. You are entitled to receive a tax deduction equal to what the vehicle is sold for if you itemize your deductions.

Planned Giving
One way to ensure continued support of Shanti is by making a deferred or planned gift. Planned gifts enable donors to meet both their personal financial objectives and their charitable giving goals at the same time. Planned gifts may be made with cash, stocks, and/or real or personal property and may involve tax benefits and life income alternatives. For information on making a planned gift, please visit our Legacy Society page.

Securities
Shanti appreciates your gift of stocks. Please instruct your broker, by letter, to transfer securities to Shanti's brokerage account at Wells Fargo Advisors, DTC number 0141, account number 8538-0513 for the benefit of Shanti Project, Inc. Please submit a copy of the letter to Shanti.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Many companies have matching gift programs through which they match charitable contributions by their employees. Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your gift to Shanti. Ask your employer if you have such a program where you work.

United Way Donations
You can make a contribution to Shanti at your workplace through the United Way. Simply write in Shanti on the form from the United Way and your donation will be deducted from your paycheck.
